Programs like checkdrive read how many internal reserve sectors the HDD still has and warn if that number gets low. However, this should rarely happen with an intact harddrive - if you get a lot of those cases (and RM are more affected by this than other programs), then it is an indication that the HDD is short of a failure.
Any HDD has reserve sectors to reroute damaged sectors when they're detected, and that rerouting could cause such a write error (because the damaged sector is detected when something fails to write on it). Use a program like (for example) checkdrive to check your harddrive status - this might be an indication of a beginning hardware failure. Please remove the spaces - you need to do that anyway if you want to deploy to somewhere other than Windows (only remove them from the directoy, no need to remove them from the ingame title), and it might be that your windows function that overrides the filenames to allow access to them in a networking environment is damaged, so removing them will make that override no longer neccessary.Īnd if that does solve the problem, consider reinstalling your Windows - it's rarely that a single windows functions suddenly fails, such cases usually indicate that windows in itself has begun to damage itself.
